CANE FURNITURE BASES
Thursday, July 31st, 2008The bit you don’t see,i have been in the Cane Furniture business for over 15 years now,and never once have i seen a customer come in to the show room and turn the furniture upside down to view the quality of the base, yet this is one of the most important components on your conservatory furniture, its the bit that takes all the abuse its the bit people blonk down on,and believe me not every body sits down on furniture gently, the problem is once the base splits or the webbing goes slack no body will repair them because there is no money to be made in replacement bases,so once your base has failed your cane furniture is useless,Whats the difference?ok here’s how it is,cheap timber bases are very cheap to make thus making the end product cheaper thus the supplier can make more money,we at cane direct use only hardwood bases with very good quality webbing so much so that we give a LIFE TIME GUARANTEE with all our bases that they will not split or that the webbing will go slack. If your are shopping around ask the question to the retailer, what are your bases made from timber or hardwood?then ask the question what guarantee do you give with your bases?if the bases are timber it would be my advise not to purchase, you may save a few pounds short term but long term it will cost you plenty because you will soon be replacing your new purchase of cane furniture. The other thing to remember is that webbing is far better than springs (good quality webbing) springs over a period of time can stretch in the middle, this will not happen with good quality webbing
